The University of Durham (founded 1832) claims to be the third oldest university in England. it occupies a number of mainly historic buildings in the City of Durham, including Durham Castle.In 2023 Dr Sue Regan was carrying out a research project: ‘Sex, Gender and Lesbians: Contemporary Debates in Contested Communities’. The research has ethical approval from the Department of Sociology Ethics Committee at the University.
