Hull skyline
Hull, officially Kingston upon Hull, is a city and unitary authority in the north of England, on the north bank of the Humber estuary. It is historically part of the East Riding and remains within the East Riding of Yorkshire ceremonial county. Between 1974 and 1996 it was a district within the County of Humberside.

LGBT History

Elsa Gidlow, Canadian/American lesbian poet, was born in Hull in 1898.

There were a Hull GLF and a Hull CHE group in the 1970s.

Hull LGBT Forum is a voice and representative body for LGBT people in Hull and the East Riding.[1]

Hull Pride has been celebrated since 2001.[2]

Colin Inglis was elected Lord Mayor of Hull in 2011.
