In Scotland, but not yet in the rest of the United Kingdom, Humanist weddings can be celebrated.

LGBT history

Mary Whitehouse, in 1977, complained of the "humanist gay lobby". Such a lobby did not exist at the time, but her remarks led to the formation of the Gay Humanist Group, now the Gay and Lesbian Humanist Association (GALHA).

The Pink Triangle Trust, founded in 1993, is a gay humanist charity which publishes the online magazine The Pink Humanist.
