Colchester CHE Group was founded in Colchester in October 1972, The following month it withdrew its request for recognition as a CHE group and decided to become a GLF group instead.[1]

However the group must have been re-founded subsequently, since it was involved in the setting up of the Colchester Gay Switchboard in 1979.[2]
